March 17, 2009 Convincing Power of God
Today’s Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 32–34; I Corinthians 2
Scripture Focus:
I Corinthians 2: 4–5 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
Observation:
We don’t have to be smooth or persuasive talkers to win people to Christ. It is more important to be so tight with the Spirit of God that his power is evident in us. The result is that people put their faith in God’s power rather than in our words.
Application:
I’d much rather have people convinced by God’s power than by my words. In fact, it’s a relief to know that my poor ability to communicate won’t hamper God, as long as I allow his power to be evident in my life.
Prayer:
Father God, I invite your Spirit to be in charge today. May I demonstrate your Spirit and power rather than my wisdom.
