May 7, 2009 Faithful Service
Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 13–14; Matthew 24
Scripture Focus:
Matthew 24:44–46 “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.
Observation:
The context of these verses is the end times and the second coming of Jesus, the end of the age. Life will not be easy during the time leading up to Jesus’ return. We’re not promised immunity from trouble, but we are asked to be faithful. To continue doing what the Master has called us to do until the very end.
Application:
I don’t have much control over what happens around me, but there is one thing I can do: be faithful in whatever God has called me to do.
Prayer:
Abba Father, please help me to be faithful today in what you have called me to do.
