June 9, 2009 Standard For Love
Today’s Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 10–12; Psalm 94; Ephesians 5
Scripture Focus:
Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Observation:
This is an amazing standard of love. Christ loved me so much he died for me. He did it willingly as an offering and a sacrifice to God.
Application:
I can try to whip myself into shape and do all the right things, but without a heart of love, I am nothing. 1 Corinthians 13 says as much. I tend to focus on my outward actions. Instead, I would do well to focus on my heart attitude. Am I loving others, the way Christ loved?
Prayer:
Ah, Father God, I need your help to cultivate a Jesus kind of love.
