Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Kings 10; 2 Chronicles 22,23; 1 Timothy 5

Scripture Focus:

2 Chronicles 22:2 Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly.

Observation:

Who you marry makes a huge difference in your life and the lives of your children. The kings of Judah had no business marrying into the house of Omri and Ahab, and yet they did so, and the influence of those wives caused the kings to sin.

Application:

I’m grateful for the wonderful, Christian man I married! He has been such a good influence on me and my children. Now my children are of the age for getting married. This is such an important, life-altering decision for them, and I need to be in prayer daily that God would bring a wonderful, Christian spouse for them to marry.

Prayer:

Father, God, the Proverbs say that a good wife is from the Lord, and it follows that a good husband is from the Lord also. Would you bring the perfect, godly spouse for each of my children, hand-picked by You?
