July 25, 2009 Doing The Impossible
Today’s Bible Reading: Isaiah 43,44,45; 1 Peter 4
Scripture Focus:
Isaiah 43:18–19 “ Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
Observation:
God is so talented. (Now that’s an understatement!) He loves to do the unexpected, the thing that is impossible. His power is so immense, and his desire is to act on behalf of his people, if they will honor him.
I remember singing these words as a child in Las Americas:
My Lord knows the way through the wilderness.
All I have to do is follow.
Strength for today, is mine all the way, and all I need for tomorrow.
My Lord knows the way through the wilderness.
All I have to do is follow!
Application:
When I face a wilderness or a desert, may I look to the one who makes a road in the wilderness and a river in the desert!
Prayer:
Father God, I need your strength today. I need to do the impossible, so I’m trusting in you to see me through.
