August 6, 2009 I Am Not Alone
Today’s Bible Reading: Habakkuk 1–3; John 8
Scripture Focus:
John 8:16 And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.
John 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.
Observation:
There was a solidarity between Jesus and his Father. When Jesus made a judgement on something, he was not alone in his judgement. He was in agreement with his Father. When Jesus was doing things here on earth, the Father was with him.
Did that mean Jesus had an easy life? Hardly! But he was so sure of the fact that God was with him, that he could go forward without fear and do the things God called him to do.
Application:
I must not forget that God is with me, too. It doesn’t mean my life will be easy and trouble free, but it does mean that I can go forward with confidence, knowing that God will order my steps and keep me from falling.
Prayer:
Father God, I’m so grateful for your presence in my life! To think that you are with me right now. Amazing!
