July 20, 2010 Spirit Of Prayerful Worship

Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 29; 2 Chronicles 30; 2 Chronicles 31; James 4 (The Message)

Scripture Focus:

2 Chronicles 31:20–21 Hezekiah carried out this work and kept it up everywhere in Judah. He was the very best—good, right, and true before his God. Everything he took up, whether it had to do with worship in God’s Temple or the carrying out of God’s Law and Commandments, he did well in a spirit of prayerful worship. He was a great success.

Observation:

Hezekiah is a great example of someone from a bad family who escaped and made a new life for himself. His dad was wicked, but somehow, possibly due to his mother, he turned all of Judah, and some from Israel, back to God.

What a legacy he left for the writer of Chronicles to say that everything he took up, he did well in a spirit of prayerful worship! The result? “He was a great success.”

Application:

Everything I do can be done in a spirit of prayerful worship. Every act can be an act of worship.

Prayer:

Father God, may my day be an act of worship!
